Success Stories: Jasmine Zhang
Name: Jasmine Zhang
Class of 2018
Major: Business Analytics
New Job: Strategy Internship at Vaudeville Ventures
Internship
experiences:
I landed a position as a Strategy
Intern at a boutique digital media consulting firm called Vaudeville Ventures. My
chief responsibility has been to assist the team in performing competitor analyses and assisting in creating decks
for company strategic purposes, with a focus on digital activities and trends. I’ve
had the opportunity to conduct text mining of customer user surveys, and
then have provided actionable insights and customer personas based on those
results.
Advice for
other students:
My advice for international students is to
acknowledge that there are unique challenges along with unique opportunities (educational
and business related) for foreign students. It’s important to recognize that
the learning experience does not start and end with the school's curriculum.
Working to improve one's business English and communication
skills, finding the right job for you, understanding the requirements of the job,
developing an elevator pitch, and having good interview skills are all crucial.
Be confident and smile because of who you are, but
also because you know that you practiced and prepared like no one else did.
How did GBCS
help me?
GBCS has helped me improve my resume
tremendously. The resume review sessions, mock interviews, career seminars
and networking are all invaluable tools in the preparation process.
